Xiaomi Super Charge Turbo

Xiaomi President Lin Bin says that the company is working hard to mass produce the 100W Super Charge Turbo fast charging technology. The company announced the technology last month and claimed that it was already in the process of mass producing it. The technology is said to fully charge a 4000mAh battery in 17 minutes. According to Redmi General Manager Lu Weibing, the technology would first be integrated into a Redmi device. Xiaomi will launch the 100W Super Charge Turbo fast charging technology as an answer to Oppo‘s 50W Super VOOC Flash Charge tech.

Lin Bin, while responding to a comment on Weibo, said that the company is working hard to mass produce the technology. He did not share any other details about it and kept the suspense on the availability of the technology in the commercial market.

Redmi is reportedly working on a Snapdragon 855-powered flagship smartphone. This might very well be the first Xiaomi device to come with 100W Super Charge Turbo fast charging technology. However, this is pure speculation since the company has not divulged in any details about the phone so far.

Xiaomi had released a video teaser showcasing its 100W fast charging technology. Xiaomi CEO Bin Lin posted a video on Weibo, which was first spotted by 91Mobiles, showing a fast charging comparison between an unnamed Xiaomi device with 4,000mAh battery and what seems to be the Oppo R17 Pro. The latter phone packs two batteries totaling 3,700mAh and 50-watt charging speeds.

The video shows the Xiaomi device reaching 100-percent in just 17 minutes while the Oppo R17 Pro manages to reach 65 percent. The results are pretty impressive, given the Oppo smartphone boasts of arguably the fastest commercially available charging solution right now.
