UrbanPiper, a SaaS startup, has secured $7.5 million (approx INR 53 crore) in a Series A round led by Tiger Global and Sequoia India. While, Axilor also participated in the round, reported Mint.
The platform UrbanPiper will utilize the fresh funds to scale up the team, produce suite and for international expansion.
Saurabh Gupta, chief executive officer and co-founder of UrbanPiper, said, “We are planning to build more offerings to help restaurants optimise their online presence, and to help them grow online.”
UrbanPiper was founded by Saurabh Gupta and Manav Gupta in 2012. The platform UrbanPiper’s core offering seeks to provide integration between restaurant point-of-sale systems and food delivery partners.
Whereas, according to the UrbanPiper’s website, it has around 70 employees at present, and will increase its headcount to 200 by May next year.
Also, the company UrbanPiper, is looking to expand its presence in South East Asia, Australia and West Asia.
“UrbanPiper is helping restaurants reduce costs and improve connectivity with diners and food delivery platforms,” said Scott Shleifer, Partner, Tiger Global Management.
Some of the SaaS-based startups, operating under the similar roof as UrbanPiper, include PetPooja, LimeTray, FoodEngine, MassBlurb, Customer Centria, among others.
