The Centre for Innovation Incubation and Entrepreneurship (CIIE) at IIM Ahmedabad, today, announced a INR 25 lakh funding for startups that works for fintech, skilling and livelihoods, reported Inc42.

The financing will help startups to grow technology solutions for low and middle income (LMI) segment. The CIIE comes under the guidance of Bharat Inclusion Initiative.

The move comes along side the announcement of the third cohort of its accelerator programme, the Financial Inclusion Lab, created in partnership with global consulting firm MicroSave Consulting.

The Bharat Inclusion Initiative is dedicated to build knowledge and fosters innovation and entrepreneurial activity towards correcting capital inclusion and livelihood for the underprivileged income segment.

In order to apply, the startups need to go through CIIE’s website before 24 October this year. Further, the selected startups will get mentoring support with field studies by financial inclusion experts and curated sessions by faculty and experts at the IIM Ahmedabad.

The CIIE, through a press statement said that these could be solutions that utilise alternative data, new technologies, and open access platforms to help the LMI segments earn more, save better, minimize financial shocks, access low-cost capital, become employable, and create wealth.
