The Supreme Court on Thursday directed all the 10 rebel MLAs to appear before the Assembly Speaker KR Ramesh Kumar today in the evening. Senior Advocate Mukul Rohatgi who appeared for the Disgruntled Lawmakers, said, ‘The Court has accepted the requested, ALl 10 Lawmakers of Congress and JD-S will appear before the Assembly Speaker at 6 pm’.
The Top Court said they can submit their resignation if they wish when they Assembly Speaker.
He added that they will fly to Bengaluru from Mumbai. He further said the Assembly Speaker will pass an order about their resignation and that will put forward before the apex court.
In the meantime, the Supreme Court also directed Karnataka Police to provide security to all MLAs when they will present before the Assembly Speaker.
The Former Attorney General said, ‘The DGP of Karnataka has been directed to provide police protection to all 10 Lawmakers when they land in Bengaluru’.
In the meantime, Mukul Rohatgi clarified that the Court’s order will be applicable to these 10 MLAs only, while other disgruntled MLA can also approach the Top Court.
While Assembly Speaker in the meantime moves Supreme Court seeking more time to deal with the resignation issue of rebel MLAs. However, the Supreme Court refused to give a hearing on the matter today.

Earlier on Wednesday, 10 Rebel Legislators from Congress and JD(S) Coalition government moved to the Apex Court against the Assembly Speaker KR Ramesh Kumar for delaying in accepting their resignation.
The Rebels alleged that Assembly Speaker is not performing his constitutional duty and deliberately delaying the acceptance of their resignations submitted with him since Saturday.
It should be noted that the Assembly Speaker KR Ramesh Kumar had on Tuesday said that out of all the 13 Resignations submitted only 5 are in the correct format. While the rest of the remaining Eight are not in the correct format. He asked the MLAs to submit the resignation again properly.
The 13-months old coalition government suffered a huge setback on Saturday when 11 MLAs from Congress–JD(S) ruling coalition tendered their resignation. And thereafter political episode and drama started in Karnataka.
