Amid the ongoing political crisis in Karnataka, Five more Karnataka Congress rebel Karnataka Congress MLAs including Anand Singh and Roshan Baig on Saturday have also moved Supreme Court against the assembly speaker not accepting their resignations.
Suspended from party for ‘anti-party’ activities, MLA Roshan Baig on July 9 tendered his resignation from Karnataka Assembly. In his letter to Assembly Speaker Ramesh Kumar, Lawmaker Roshan Baig stated that he is resigning by his own from MLA post.
Disgruntled Congress Lawmaker Roshan Baig was suspended by the Congress on June 19 from the primary membership for indulging in ‘anti-party’ activities.

It should be noted that the Assembly Speaker KR Ramesh Kumar has yet not accepted any resignation.
Earlier on Friday, the Supreme Court ordered Assembly Speaker to maintain status quo in connection with the resignation of 10 rebel MLAs of Congress and JD-S who tendered their resignation on Thursday. The Top Court Bench headed by Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi said that the Court will hear the matter again on Tuesday, July 16.
If the resignation of all the rebel MLAs accepted, then the strength of the ruling Congress and JD-S will come down to 103. While the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has 106 MLAs.
While in another development on Friday, Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy announced that he will prove his majority in the State Assembly. Chief Minister has asked the Assembly Speaker KR Ramesh Kumar to fix a time saying that he would seek a floor test.
The 13-months old coalition government suffered a huge setback on Saturday last week when 11 MLAs from Congress–JD(S) ruling coalition tendered their resignation. And thereafter political episode and drama started in Karnataka. Later on, many other MLAs also tendered their resignation taking the tally to 16 MLAs till now.
