Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday held a massive Roadshow in Varanasi, a day before filing his nomination for the mega polls 2019. PM Modi who is seeking another term from the Lok Sabha Seat also performed Ganga Aarti in Varanasi. PM Modi began his 6 KM Roadshow after paying tributes to the statue of Pt Madan Mohan Malviya outside Banaras Hindu University.

‘On the banks of the Ganga, prayed for India’s peace and prosperity. Glimpses from the magnificent Ganga Aarti in Kashi’ tweeted PM Modi while sharing the images from Ganga Aarti.

The 6 KM that saw thousands of supporters lined up on the streets passed through Madanpura, Lanka and adjoining areas and culminated in Dashashwamedh Ghats.

Bharatiya Janata Party Chief Amit Shah, UP CM Yogi Adityanath, Union Minister JP Nadda, were among the party top brasses who accompanied Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his mega show.

Before Heading towards Varanasi, PM Modi earlier in the day tweeted, ‘After bumper rallies in Darbhanga and Banda, I am heading to beloved Kashi. There are a series of programmes lined up, which would give me another excellent opportunity to interact with my sisters and brothers of Kashi. Har Har Mahadev!’

‘To serve Kashi is an honour. Together, we have been able to achieve a lot, especially futuristic infrastructure, more cleanliness and greater ‘Ease of Living.’ I seek Kashi’s blessings for another term so that we can continue working for this blessed city’, PM Modi said in another tweet.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is slated to file his nomination today for Varanasi Lok Sabha Seat. He on the occasion will be accompanied by NDA Top Leaders including Udhhav Thackeray, among others.

Modi had in 2014 General elections defeated AAP’Arvind Kejriwal with over 3.80 Lakh votes. Prior to Narendra Modi, BJP Senior Leader Murli Manohar Joshi represented the Varanasi Seat since 2009-2014. However, he has was shifted to Kanpur in 2014 after Narendra Modi decided to contest from Varanasi.

Narendra Modi in a run-up to the national elections 2019 will take on SP’s Shalini Yadav, a joint candidate of Mahagathbandhan. While Congress has named Ajay Rai from the Lok Sabha Seat.

General Elections have already started and would spread across all seven phases from April 11 to May 19.

80 seats of the state will go to polls in all seven phases starting from April 11 till May 19. Phase-IV of Voting is slated for April 29. Counting of votes will take place on May 23, four days after the final round of Polling.

Varanasi will go to polls on May 19.
