West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee who is on sit-in Protest to ‘Save The Democracy’ since Sunday after a tussle between CBI and West Bengal Cops erupted announced to continue her dharna till February 8.

“I’ll continue my dharna till February 8 because Madhyamik examination will start after that,” she added. Earlier, she charged the Narendra Modi Government at the Centre with trying to destroy every institution of the Bengal Government. She added, “Our satyagraha is not against any agency, it is against Modi government’s atrocities”.

She also asserted that “I am ready to give my life but not compromise. I did not take to the streets when you touched TMC leaders. But I am angry when they tried to insult the chair of the Kolkata Police Commissioner, he is leading the organisation”.

Addressing the Krishak Samabesh at Netaji Indoor Stadium via Facebook live from her dharna site, the chief minister said, “I was supposed to attend the Krishak Samabesh
organised by Krishak O Khet Mazdoor Samiti at Netaji Indoor Stadium. But an unprecedented, emergency-like situation has been created.”

She has been on dharna at Metro Channel what she said is to save the Constitution since last evening. Banerjee said, ” They are practising politics of vendetta. Even civil services officers have not been spared. This has been the case for the last five years in India. ”
“People are afraid to speak out. The democratic rights of people are under threat, ” she
commented.

Meanwhile, West Bengal Governor Keshari Nath Tripathi on Monday dispatched his report on yesterday’s development in the state to Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh through the mail.

Earlier in the day, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh speaking on the Issue in Lok Sabha said, ‘SC in its earlier order on the CBI investigation of Saradha chit fund case had said that CBI in its investigation till now had found involvement of many political & influential persons’. The Minister added, ‘West Bengal Governor Keshari Nath Tripathi has summoned Chief Secretary and Director General of Police and has asked them to take immediate action to resolve the situation’.

The Fresh Tussle between Central Government and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee broke out on Sunday evening over questioning of West Bengal Police Commissioner Rajeev Kumar on Shardha Chit fund scam.
