Reportedly, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has to attend an oath-taking ceremony of Justice DN Patel as the Delhi High Chief Justice and is also slated to attend a meeting with Jal Board Officials.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Leader Rajiv Babbar in the defamation case alleged that 4 AAP Leaders including Atishi and Arvind Kejriwal have falsely accused BJP of being involved in Deletion of voters name in the national capital. He further alleged AAP Leaders of tarnishing the image of the party with a false accusation.
Babbar further said that they (AAP) Leaders falsely stated the over 30 names of ‘Purvanchalis, Baniyas, Muslims, and other communities’ were allegedly deleted by BJP.
The Court had earlier issued summons to AAP Leaders under section 500 of the Indian Penal Code and directed them to appear before the court.
Earlier in January, BJP Delhi unit chief Manoj Tiwari along with a delegation of BJP leaders including Vijendra Gupta met the Election Commissioner. The Delegation demanded that AAP should be de-recognized for carrying ‘baseless propaganda’ that poll panel had deleted 30 Lakh voters from the voting list at the behest of the BJP.
AAP Leaders had earlier this year claimed that name of voters has been deleted from electoral rolls ahead of national polls in Delhi. They accused the deletion was done at the behest of Bharatiya Janata Party.
