Ahead of the Lok Sabha Polls 2019, the speculation of CongressAAP grand old alliance against Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) in the capital is still unsure and uncertain. However, Congress president Rahul Gandhi ended the dubeity with the Congress AAP alliance in the neighboring states of Haryana and Punjab declaring that no such talks for a pact in these two states have been made by the two parties. Congress said that it will soon declare the candidates for the 2019 Lok Sabha Polls for the two states.

“There is no conversation or alliance with Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) or any other party either for Harayana or for Punjab. We are soon going to release the name of the party candidates for the two states,” Randeep Surjewala, Congress Communication Chief, said.

The following statement comes a day after the AAP cleared that an alliance in Delhi will only be possible if the Congress willingly gives the seats of Gurgaon, Faridabad, and Karnal to the AAP in return for setting aside as many seats in Delhi. These are the three Haryana constituencies in the National Captial Region(NCR).

The Congress AAP alliance has been in tittle-tattle for some time now as the elections are drawing closer. The two party presidents met to sort the alliance in the capital but Congress and AAP could not close the deal on sharing seats in Haryana and Chandigarh in return of sharing seats in Delhi.

The Arvind Kejriwal-led AAP on April 6 said that the two parties will form an alliance only if Congress fight the poll in Haryana and Chandigarh in an alliance with AAP. AAP has also asked Congress to openly declare its support to full statehood for Delhi if there has to be an alliance between the two parties.

The Delhi Congress president Sheila Dikshit is against the alliance in the capital being an AAP rebel. The uncertainty over the alliance still continues with BJP fighting 7 seats in Delhi.

The capital will go to the polls on May 12 in phase six of the Lok Sabha elections.
