A Delegation of Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) on Tuesday will meet Election Commission of India and will urge the poll body to deploy Central Forces during the Electoral Process in the Mamata Banerjee‘s Bastion West Bengal in the upcoming General Elections 2019. The meeting with the Poll body is slated to for today at 5 pm.

The Saffron Party who has been loggerheads with TMC and Mamata Banerjee led Government in West Bengal will ask the Poll panel to conduct the polls under Central Forces.

Earlier on Monday, the BJP had complained to the EC that the ruling Trinamool Congress leaders are “threatening the voters”. BJP General Secretary Kailash Vijaywargiya on Monday in the sideline if the event trained guns towards TMC Government.

He said “there is Police Raj in the state. Anyone joining BJP in the state, Police randomly started following him/her and puts the fabricated cases against them. But there will a long list of people joining BJP in the upcoming days”

While Asserting the need for Central Forces, He said that he will be meeting the Election Commission in the next couple of days to stop unnecessary involvement of the state police in the Electoral Process. He further said, “With the Implementation of Model Code of Conduct, Democracy in the state will be reinstated”.

Earlier in February last month, Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) delegation including Senior Leaders Nirmala SitharamanMukhtar Abbas Naqvi, Bhupendra Yadav, BJP’s West Bengal In-charge Kailash Vijayvargiya and others met Election Commission and requested the Poll Panel to look on the issue of Law and Order in the TMC ruled State.

The Delegation also complained to EC that Central Government Officers in the state are threatened. They also added TMC Government intentionally stalling that Poll rallies and functions of Bhartiya Janta Party in the state.

Lok Sabha Polls are slated for April-May this year that would spread on Seven Phases starting from April 11 to May 19. Polls in all 42 Lok Sabha Seats of West Bengal will spread in all seven phases starting from April 11 next month.

Election Commission had on Sunday declared schedule for General Elections 2019. Results for the crucial Lok Sabha Polls will be announced on May 23 four days after the 7th phase of voting. In 2014 General Election, Trinamool Congress won 34 Lok Sabha Seats,  Congress 4, while BJP and CPI(M) won 2 seats each amidst heavy ‘Modi Wave’.
