Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Jammu and Kashmir Chief Ravinder Raina on Tuesday said that his party wants state polls in the valley to be held soon. Speaking to media after attending a meeting BJP Chief Amit Shah and BJP working President JP Nadda, he added that workers across the state will be soon asked to gear for the polls.

He further said that the party-state core group held discussions on the political situation of the state, state polls, the ongoing Amarnath Yatra, among others. ‘We also discussed the security-related issues of the state’, he added.

Revealing about the party plans for polls, Raina added that he also held a discussion on party’s poll preparedness and finalize party poll strategy. Speaking on the centre’s move to deploy more forces in the state, Raina said that move is done with an aim to counter the terror attack.

Slamming the parties for creating ‘noise’ over the deployment for forces, BJP leader said Those including PDP and NC have now lost people trust and their properties have also been seized, that is why they are making noise. He added that there was a need to deploy more forces on the backdrop of inputs received from several agencies.

Apart from Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president, its working President JP Nadda, BJP general BL Santosh, Union Minister Jitendra Singh, among others are also called for the meeting. The meeting was also attended by party’s state core group and was held at the party’s headquarters in the national capital.

It should be noted that Congress State Chief Ghulam Ahmed Mir along with state leaders had met Rahul Gandhi in the national capital. The delegation discussed the political scenario and the reasons behind party poll setback.

In the meantime, the poll commission has already announced that it will declare the election schedule for the state polls in Jammu and Kashmir after the conclusion of Amarnath Yatra.

While early this month, the Central government has extended the president’s rule in the valley for another six months.
