Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said that his government at Centre is fully committed to further improve urban infrastructure and will leave no stone unturned to fulfill the dream of ‘Housing for All’, which will give wings to crores of aspirations. He also hailed his government’s Awas Yojana.

Taking to twitter PM Modi said, ‘Four years ago, today we started important initiatives PM Awas Yojana (U), AMRUT, Smart Cities with the aim of in India. These initiatives have not only helped usher in a new paradigm of urban development but have also transformed crores of lives’.

In another tweet, he added, ‘These initiatives have seen record investment, speed, use of technology & public participation. We are committed to further improving urban infrastructure. No stone will be left unturned to fulfil the dream of ‘Housing for All’, which will give wings to crores of aspirations’.

The Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT)  scheme was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in June 2015 with the focus to establish an infrastructure that could ensure adequate robust sewage networks and water supply for urban transformation by implementing urban revival projects.

While the Prime Minister Awas Yojana (PMAY) is an initiative by Government of India in which affordable housing will be provided to the urban poor with a target of building 20 million affordable houses by 31 March 2022.
