The Opposition Congress party had on Sunday removed some of the lines from its poll song after the Poll Body raised objections on the lines that was inducted by the party to slam Bharatiya Janata Party on communal lines. The Election Commission of India objections came hours before the party was set to launch it.

Reportedly, as per the poll body, some of the lines in the song are explicitly referred to alleged “disturbed communal harmony.

The Congress party with the theme song aimed to galvanize support through its flagship NYAY Scheme.  In a minute long song, the Rahul Gandhi-led party highlighted the party’s proposed flagship scheme minimum income guarantee “NYAY”.

Sources familiar with the development said after the ECI raised Objection the party has modified and replaced the objected lines. The lines slammed the Bharatiya Janata Party government for spreading hatred and pitching communities against each other.

Later the party in the day released on Sunday Afternoon.

The campaign song also mentions the job situation, farmer distress, demonetization, women’s security, GST, among other issues. The party also slammed BJP for Changing names of cities in its theme some.

The slogan is — “Ab hoga NYAY”. Congress in its manifesto has promised to give Rs 72,000 per year to the 20 percent of India’s poorest under its NYAY scheme, if his party voted to power.

Earlier in the Bharatiya Janata Party also released its slogan, theme and TV Commercials. Union Minister Arun Jaitley while addressing the press unveiled party tagline ‘Phir Ek Baar Modi Sarkar’ similar to what the party has used in 2014 national elections. He also launched the party’s theme for the TV Commercials.

The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party in the TV commercials and Theme Song has focused on the achievements of the Central Government and work done by it in the last 5 years.

With just days left for the first phase of polling, All the parties including the Congress party are leaving no stone unturned to outdo each other in the mega battle of ballots. Congress in a run-up to the mega polls has already declared its candidates on over 370 candidates across the nation.

Election Commission had on March 10 declared schedule for General Elections 2019. Lok Sabha Polls are slated for April-May this year that would spread on Seven Phases starting from April 11 to May 19.

Counting of Votes and Results for the mega Battle of ballots will be announced on May 23 four days after the 7th phase of voting.
