BJP President Amit Shah Targets congress, says it has 'modi-phobia'

On being denied the permission to hold “Rath Yatra” in West Bengal, BJP president Amit Shah, slams CM Mamata Banerjee by saying, “There is a reign of terror in Bengal. Mamata Banerjee is throttling democracy.”

BJP planned to take out three rallies in West Bengal, which would have begun from Coochbehar in the north, from Kakdwip in the South 24 Parganas district and from the Tarapith temple in Birbhum district. The ‘rath yatra‘ would have covered all 42 Lok Sabha constituencies in Bengal – one of the few non-BJP states.

Amit Shah declared, “We will definitely carry out all ‘yatra‘, nobody can stop us.”

The Calcutta HC refused permission to Amit Shah’s ‘rath yatra‘ on grounds that it might create “communal tension”.

Amit Shah said, “I want to tell Mamata Banerjee that by not giving permission to BJP programs, you will only invite the ire of people in your state. She (Mamata) is scared that if BJP takes out all these three rallies in the state of West Bengal and assemble in Kolkata then the foundation of a complete change will be laid down. So she attempted to stop all these yatras.”

He declared, “We will fight it out, I will personally lead the Rath Yatra when it happens. Our party workers in the state will not bow down to tactics of Mamata.”

Amit Shah, in his press conference after an emergency meeting, claimed, “The people are tired of what they are seeing, experiencing. I am sure voters will side with us in state elections here next year.”
