It seems like Loot Boxes have become a hot topic in the gaming industry these days. Too many announcements are coming in surrounding the ‘Loot Boxes’ in video games. Earlier today Microsoft, Nintendo, and Sony announced that they are actively encouraging all the leading publishers into disclosing the odds of receiving different types of in-game items from loot boxes in all future titles. And now, developer Psyonix has announced that its popular game Rocket League is removing its paid, randomized loot boxes as it follows its parent company Epic Games’ footsteps who made a similar change to Fortnite earlier this year.
“We are dedicated to creating the best possible experience for our players all over the world,” the developer said. However, no exact timeline as to when the change takes place is still available. Moreover, players will still have an option to buy Rocket Pass Premium, DLC Cars, and e-sports shop items directly whenever the new system is pushed into effect.
With this change, you will now be able to see exactly where you are spending your money as you will know beforehand what you are buying.
The Rocket League developers will soon reveal a timeline for the change to set in motion.
