Fortnite v10.40.1 arrives on October 2

Epic Games is always busy with bringing on new updates and features to its famous Battle Royale title Fortnite. Ever since the title launched, the company has introduced tons of new updates alongside many crossover events including the recent ‘Area 51 themed skin owing to the famous Storm Area 51, They Can’t Stop Us All‘ meme and the currently ongoing FortniteXBatman‘ crossover to honor the iconic superhero’s 80th anniversary. As for updates, v10.31 update saw the arrival of a ‘Party Hub’ in-game voice chat feature. Leaks even suggest that a new map is on the way, arriving with Season 11. Just a few days back, Epic introduced v10.40  update to the title which brought some improvements to its aim assist alongside matchmaking system and bots. And now, we have a new v10.40.1 update to the existing version.

Fortnite tweeted on its official page that the update v10.40.1 will hit the Fortnite servers on 2nd October resulting in a server downtime which is scheduled at 1 AM PT / 4 AM ET / 9 AM BST. This will further disable any matchmaking for at least 20-25 minutes.

However, the update seems to be a minor one and we shouldn’t expect anything big from Epic. But we will get to see ‘The Overtime Challenges’ which will provide a possible hint of when Fortnite Season 10 will end. As of now, the season is set to end on Sunday. It will also be interesting to see if Epic has considered making any improvements to its recent cross-platform feature which is getting fans angry.

This is probably the last update for Season 10 as the season is almost about to end. Moreover, with rumours regarding the introduction of a new map to the battle royale title has already had fans excited and we can only wait to see what the new season has to offer.
