Galaxy S10 concept

Samsung has reportedly started the mass production of its upcoming flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S10. The company is supposed to launch the Galaxy S10 lineup on February 20 in San Francisco. According to a report by The Investor, which cites sources from Samsung’s supply chain source, the company put the Galaxy S10 into mass production on January 25.

The 5G version of the phone, however, has not entered mass production yet, claims the report. It is being said that Samsung will mass produce the 5G variants of the S10 at the company’s Gumi plant in Korea, while the S10, S10+, and S10 Lite will be mass produced at Samsung’s Vietnam plant. The report states that only 4G versions of the phone are being mass produced currently. Notwithstanding, an industry source added that the 5G S10 will go into mass production in the first half of 2019 in partnership with Verizon and AT&T.

In other news, the report from The Investor states that the foldable phone from Samsung, dubbed as Galaxy F, will be reportedly priced more than 2 million South Korean Won (₹ 1,27,698 approx). The company first showcased its foldable smartphone at the company’s developer conference in November last year. During the conference, Samsung also promised to mass produce Infinity displays in the next few months.

Samsung also recently announced that it has started producing industry’s first 1TB embedded Universal Flash Storage (eUFS) 2.1. Which means that Samsung Galaxy S10 will come with 1TB onboard storage.

Samsung Galaxy S10 line-up is also expected to come with a “detachable screen protector”. The protector is said to cover the edges of the phone and come pre-installed. Moreover, the Galaxy S10 and S10+ will come with an in-display fingerprint powered by Qualcomm’s second-generation ultrasonic fingerprint scanner. The Galaxy S10 Lite, however, will feature a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.

Samsung Galaxy S10, S10+ and Galaxy S10 Lite, alongside Galaxy will be made official on February 20 in San Francisco.
