Redmi Note 7

Xiaomi is gearing up to launch the recently released Redmi Note 7 in India as company’s India Managing Director Manu Kumar Jain has announced. Manu Kumar took on Twitter rather creatively to post a tweet about the launch of the 48-megapixel camera phone in India. In the tweet, Manu Kumar states that Xiaomis plans to turn the industry upside-down. The tweet also says the Amazing 48MP camera is coming soon, followed by RT if you know what this means.

The tweet also includes a photo in which Manu Kumar is seen posing with  Xiaomi’s CEO Lei Jun and the Redmi Note 7 in their hands. The tweet is written upside down and the photo is also shared upside down which could be attributed to Kumar’s claim of turning ‘the industry upside-down.’ With the mention of a 48-megapixel camera, it is clear that Manu Kumar is referencing to the launch of the Redmi Note 7 in India soon.

The phone comes in with a glass-sandwich design and the branding on the back of the phone now reads ‘Redmi by Xiaomi’. Redmi Note 7 will be available in three variants and in spite of the 48-megapixel camera the price tag on this smartphone is aggressive.

The Redmi Note 7 base variant with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage is priced at 999Yuan(₹10,000 approx), while the 4GB RAM with 64GB of storage and 6GB RAM with 64 GB of storage is priced at 1199 Yuan(₹12,000 approx.) and 1399 Yuan(₹1400 approx.)

The company is also expected to launch the Pro version of the Redmi Note 7 which will be called Redmi Note 7 Pro.

Jain’s tweet does not reveal the specific date for the launch of the device, though it is widely expected to launch in an event in February. February is the month when the South-Korean tech giant Samsung, too, will be launching its budget smartphone series, dubbed as Galaxy M and with the launch of Redmi Note 7, Xiaomi will be looking to take on the upcoming budget smartphones from Samsung.
