According to the famous leaker, Jon Prosser, Apple is planning to shift the dates of its iPhone 12 release by a month.
Well, Apple fans have been eagerly waiting for the launch of new Apple devices like the iPad, series 6 watch, and also the iPhone 12. Usually, September is the month for them. Since years Apple launches their iPhones and other devices in September. Due to the whole worldwide crisis now Apple is planning to shift its iPhone launch by a month.
Jon Prosser is famous for providing accurate leaks related to Apple devices. He isn’t accurate every time but still a trustworthy leaker. According to his leaks, the Apple Watch & iPad would launch in September but the iPhone 12’s launch event won’t happen till October.
He also stated that we may see a staggered launch of the iPhone. Well if you don’t know what a staggered launch is, let me tell you.
Staggered launch is releasing devices in order. Apple is expected to launch three iPhone 12 devices that differ in size. The sizes would be 5.4, 6.1, and 6.7-inch. The 5.4-inch model will have a dual-lens camera and would be in an affordable price tag. The 6.7-inch iPhone and one 6.1-inch model will be higher-end devices with triple-lens cameras. There won’t be any compromise on the network as they all will support 5G.
The release of watch and iPad will obviously be a press release rather than a big event where everyone joins for the reveal. Talking about the phone reveal it may be a pre-recorded event or Apple may try to organize an event. The chances of the latter are very slim given the state of this world.
Reliability of the leak?
Some fans claim that the leak cannot be trusted because every year the iPhone is launched with the watch. This year’s watch will have watchOS7 which will require iOS14 to function, so launching the watch first and then the phone doesn’t seem right. The iPhone 12 Pro won’t be available till November so there is a long time for that.
Not all of his leaks have been true, some of them have been outrageous. One of them was when he said Apple is going to launch the Airpower charging mat even after Apple decided not to launch it after announcing it.
We have to wait till the week of September 7th to see if these claims turn out to be true or not as that is the launch week of the iPad and the series 6 Apple watch.
