Rajkummar Rao starrer remake of 1975 cult classic comedy Chupke Chupke has got its title as producer Manish Goswami has given the permission. The upcoming film will be named same as the original as Manish gave away the title Chupke Chupke for Bhushan Kumar and Luv Ranjan’s remake.

It was reported earlier this year that Bhushan Kumar and Luv Ranjan were remaking Hrishikesh Mukherjee’s 1975 directorial with Rajkummar Rao in the lead role. After the decision was made, they realized that they did not have the title as Manish Goswami had registered it for his production house long ago.

“However, when Bhushan’s company approached him, he immediately issued a ‘No Objection’ letter to the Film and Television Producers Guild of India as he didn’t have a suitable script ready,” said a source quoted by the Times of India.

“We are industry colleagues, so, we should help one another in times of need,” said Manish.

Manish has earlier given the title Dream Girl to Ekta Kapoor for her Ayushmann Khurrana and Nushrat Bharucha starrrer.

Coming back to the film, the original 1975 classic comedy starred Dharmendra, Amitabh Bachchan, Sharmila Tagore, and Jaya Bachchan. The film itself was a remake of the Bengali film Chhadmabeshi.

Rajkummar Rao will be reprising the role of Professor Parimal Tripathi essayed by Dharmendra in the original. Talking about stepping into Dharmendra’s shoes, the Stree actor said, “It’s a big responsibility to step into his shoes. We know that we can not match Hrishida’s (Hrishikesh Mukherjee, Director) standard, but we will try to put our best foot forward.”
