America and Japan are two vastly different countries. Each country has a separate culture of their own. While, America has given the world, Brad Pitt. Japan has given Isaka Kotaro, who has penned the famous novel ‘Maria Beetle’. A film on the novel is now being made, with Brad Pitt in the lead.

David Leitch, who became famous for directing films such as Deadpool 2, Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw and Atomic Blonde is going to direct the film. The premise of the film, which is based on the novel reads :

“Five assassins find themselves on a fast-moving bullet train from Tokyo to Morioka with only a few stops in between. They discover their missions are related to one another. The question they face is: “who will make it off the train alive and what awaits them at the terminal station?”

While, Antoine Fuqua was going to direct the film initially for Sony Pictures, will now serve as one of its producers as per ‘The Hollywood Reporter’. Apart from Fuqua, Kat Samick of Fuqua Films will produce the film. Under 87North, director Leitch and Kelly McCormick will be the producers too.

The novel has been adapted into a script by Zak Olkewicz. Sony Pictures who are attached as the executive producers are doing so through Brittany Morrissey.

It is expected that the film will start its shoot in the later part of this year. Brad Pitt was last seen in the sci-film ‘Ad Astra’. Last year he won the Academy Award For Best Supporting Actor for his role in Quentin Tarantino’s ‘Once Upon A Time In Hollywood’. The win was Brad’s first Oscar win, as an actor.

Bullet Train is going to be an assassination thriller.
